We are the actors in the play that is our lives - we are at all times spiritually responsible for our actions in that play. However, until that spiritual responsibility becomes emotional and material within our lives we will be destined to enact the same play over and over again with nothing changing but the period wardrobe and props.<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "To be responsible is not simply to accept burdens, more than anything else it is to accept power." &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--></p>
<p>When I was a child my father taught me how to play Gin Rummy. We would play for hours and most of the time that we played I would win. One day I was feeling very full of myself as a great card shark and I decided to play for money<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "money" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]-->. My father tried to talk me out of it, but I insisted. I bet my entire allowance and in about five minutes my father won. Now the game was over and he had won and I believed that he should give me my money back. My father refused. I cried, I begged, I sulked, I even tried to borrow the exact amount, but he absolutely refused. I could not believe that my father could actually love<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "love" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> me and not give me back my money. I decided that he did not really love me. I believed that if he loved me he would give me anything that I wanted. This was what I really felt. It took a long time for me to understand that my fathers&#8217; love had nothing to do with my responsibility<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "responsibility" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> for my own actions.</p>
<p>After many months, perhaps even years, I finally understood what he had given to me. I could never again act in any way or say any words that I was not prepared to be responsible for the outcome of. I realized that my father would never make idol threats, if I wanted to do something that I should not, he would tell me the punishment<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "punishment" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> that I would receive<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "receive" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> if I did it.  He was no longer attached to my choice<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "choice" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]-->, and when I ultimately did what I wanted to do anyway, he was not attached to the punishment. I am<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "I am" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> now grateful for this lesson. The one good thing about this lesson is that it is never too late to learn, and never too late to teach to your children. It only takes one time, which was all it took for me. I may have pushed the envelope many times after that, but the difference was that I was responsible and prepared for whatever the outcome. I was in my power.</p>
<p>I suppose that when our belief in reincarnation was taken away from us, so too was the possibility of ever really being right - so we went for the next best thing which was appearing to be right. Of course if we could do neither, we had to place the responsibility for our being wrong on someone else - blame - so that we could escape whatever repercussions we envisioned. The concept of reincarnation has always felt right to me. I always knew that God was Love, and it just made sense to me that placing us in the darkness and giving us only one chance to find the right light - without a manual was not a loving act. To me, it was like taking your child and putting her out at night having this discourse:</p>
<p>Parent:  Go find it and you can&#8217;t come home until you do - and if you don&#8217;t you will be lost forever.</p>
<p>Child:  Find what?</p>
<p>Parent:  Figure it out.</p>
<p>Child:  Which direction do I go?</p>
<p>Parent:  Look in the Book.</p>
<p>Child:  Which Book - there are so many?</p>
<p>Parent:  Figure it out!</p>
<p>Then having the parent close the door on the child. So, reincarnation made sense to me. As someone who has practiced Astrology for many years, I have looked to the chart for past life content. But a chart may be easily verified in this life, but when referring to past lives it is really theoretical. However, since I started doing past life regressions, I find that the chart does give very accurate information as to the issues we need to take responsibility for in our lives that we have failed to do the same in past lives. I see people repeating the same theme over and over again. In the sixteenth century the theme may have been &#8220;Romeo and Juliet&#8221;, while in the twentieth century it may have been &#8220;West Side Story&#8221;. Over and over again I see people making the same ultimate choices, life after life, suffering the same consequences only with a slightly different story line. My father put the responsibility for my actions in my lap. I am still growing into that lesson, it is still a work in progress, but at least there is progress. I thought that my choices were pre-determined. I now realize that they are not pre-determined but they are hardwired into my make-up, because they are the choices that keep my ego where it is the most comfortable - on familiar ground. I love the saying, &#8220;Better the hell you know than the hell you don&#8217;t&#8221;. That is straight from the ego&#8217;s mouth. When we take responsibility, full responsibility - &#8220;The buck stops here&#8221; kind of responsibility, we will very likely end up in unfamiliar territory. I know how to function in a bad relationship, but do I really know how to function in a good one? Even happy is scary if happy is unknown. I always go left, maybe I should go right. I always wait, maybe I should act. I always go for the one who needs love, maybe I should go for the one who has it.</p>
<p>We choose the lessons<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "lessons" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> we will learn. We have to accept responsibility<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "responsibility" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> for the choices we made before we came here as well as the choices that we make while we are here. We did not choose to suffer<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "suffer" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]-->; we chose to learn we chose the areas of growth we would work on in this lifetime. This was how we determined our moment of birth&lt;!&#8211;[if supportFields]&gt; XE &#8220;<em>birth</em>&#8221; &lt; ![endif]&#8211;&gt;<!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]-->; we chose that moment so the energies of the planets<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "planets" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> would create the right atmosphere for the growth we came in to achieve.</p>
<p>Taking responsibility<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "responsibility" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> automatically puts us in the present. It puts us in a situation in which we have choices to make. As soon as we acknowledge that we have choices, we will realize that we have power.<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "Taking responsibility automatically puts us in the present.  It puts us in a situation in which we have choices to make.  As soon as we acknowledge that we have choices, we will realize that we have power." &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> Finding someone or something to blame for our situation relieves us of the responsibility of changing it. It also prevents it from changing. Even if we blame ourselves, we tend to blame something that we label as an inadequacy rather than our own action or inaction, which we can do something about. I will not permit my children to say, &#8220;I can&#8217;t&#8221;, they have to say, &#8220;I won&#8217;t&#8221;, &#8220;I can&#8217;t&#8221; is a great deal more comfortable than, &#8220;I won&#8217;t&#8221;, &#8220;I won&#8217;t&#8221; implies responsibility.</p>
<p>Some people prefer to be miserable; they prefer to be victims. These people are constantly seeking and rejecting answers<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "answers" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]-->. Everything that goes wrong in their lives is the responsibility<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "responsibility" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> of someone or something other than themselves, and no amount of facts will convince them otherwise. This is a pattern built up over lifetimes.</p>
<p>The wrong people find<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "find" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> them; they don&#8217;t find the wrong people. They remember the harsh things said to them but not what they might have said to provoke harsh words from others. If they are ever wrong, it is because they were provoked, tricked, or in some way forced to do whatever they were being held responsible for doing wrong.</p>
<p>If there is any good in their lives they find<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "find" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> someone to compare it with who has it better. They do not compromise, because if it is all or nothing there is a much better chance<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "chance" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> of getting nothing. These same people tend to be luckier than most, they tend to be taken care of although they don&#8217;t notice it. These people probably live the most tortured lives because they have to keep validating the external source of their misery<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "validating their misery" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]-->.  The catch is that when we are not responsible we are not in our power,<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "our power," &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> we hand over our power to those people or circumstances that we consider to be responsible. We are not blocked from having a wonderful life, we miss the chances life presents to do so because we are so deeply engrossed in our need to elude responsibility. &#8220;I won&#8217;t call her because she hasn&#8217;t called me&#8221;, &#8220;I won&#8217;t show love because it is never appreciated&#8221;, &#8220;I won&#8217;t try because I always lose&#8221;. Even when we blame ourselves, we say, &#8220;I am not tall enough, smart enough, attractive enough, strong enough&#8230;&#8221; We blame an attribute or lack of an attribute; we don&#8217;t take responsibility for an action or lack of action, a choice made or refusal to make a choice. We do not take responsibility, as beings.</p>
<p>This is all perception<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "perception" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]-->. If you perceive yourself as not responsible, as helpless then the positive side is that you are off of the hook, you didn&#8217;t make a mistake, fail, etc., the negative<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "negative" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> side is you are helpless, a victim of an unsafe world.</p>
<p>Lets look at an example, say that you have a good job<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "job" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]-->, you have never been late, and have never been sick. One day you walk into the office and the boss&#8217;s lover is sitting at your desk and you&#8217;re out of a job. Well that is a classic case of victimization if ever one existed right? Perhaps, it really depends on ones perspective<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "perspective" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]-->. This could be an example of how nothing you do works out, so it is a good reason to go get drunk, or lock yourself in your room. You can add this to the list of wrongs done to you. Or you could tell yourself that you&#8217;re lucky<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "lucky" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> that you got away from a losing situation.  Perhaps you might perceive it as a sign from the Universe<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "Universe" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> to go on your own, or that it is just a sign to move on.</p>
<p>Most people are afraid of responsibility because they fear being responsible for the outcome of our actions. However, taking responsibility for the outcome is unrealistic. When we take responsible for a child or a valuable piece of jewelry or anything left in our keeping this is in a moment. It is not something that we do twenty-four hours a day. However when we accept responsibility for our actions we are taking responsibility for everything <em>except</em> the outcome and we are taking that responsibility in every moment that we are alive. It is being responsible for each thought, each movement and each word that we say. We cannot control<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "control" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> the <em>outcome</em> of anything.  I may drink and drive and have an accident or not.  I am<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "I am" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> responsible for having been drinking. I am neither responsible for the fact that I had an accident nor am I responsible if I did not have one. To be responsible is to be present and aware in each action that we take in each thought that we have. This is to be in each now of our lives.</p>
<p>There is a part of our brain that works automatically.  It regulates our body<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "body" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]-->, it breathes, it pumps blood to our organs it does not take our presence or our awareness in order to function.<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "There is a part of our brain that works automatically.  It regulates our body, it breathes, it pumps blood to our organs it does not take our presence or our awareness in order to function." &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--></p>
<p>When we are toddlers and we begin to walk we are present.  Each step is an effort it takes mindfulness<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "mindfulness" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]-->. After we walk long enough it becomes automatic. I watched my son focus and strain while he tries to put his socks on. Eventually he didn&#8217;t even notice that he was doing it, because it became automatic. Even when we drive to a certain destination<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "destination" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> enough times it too becomes automatic, as though the car just knows where to turn.</p>
<p>How often do we bump into a piece of furniture and say, &#8220;excuse me&#8221;?  When our living<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "living" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]-->, becomes automatic we cannot be responsible, we are sleep walking.  We are not present<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "functioning on automatic" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]-->.  Many times the loss<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "loss" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> of passion in our relationships and even the loss of growth in our relationships emerges simply out of our having sent the functioning of the relationship<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "relationship" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> to automatic. Where once we experienced each word and movement of our lover and were present within the relationship now the relationship becomes automatic. The relationship becomes part of our unseen unfelt automatic world. So we cannot find<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "find" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> where we went wrong because we were not really there. We need to relegate the functioning of our bodies to the automatic brain and the functioning of our lives to our active selves.</p>
<p>When we meditate<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "meditate" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> we are taught to focus on our breathing because that connects us with the present. That connection is the key. When we are connected with our present, with our actions we can then assume responsibility for our lives. When we are truly responsible we are again empowered and in control<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "control" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]-->. It may take work and time to disengage our lives from automatic. It will certainly take walking through our own fears. Yet once this is done we are finally connected with our lives, our loves, our souls and our God<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "God" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]-->.  When we are awake we can hear sounds that the sleeping cannot hear and feel things that the numb cannot feel.</p>
<p>When we are awake and responsible nothing gets past<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "past" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> us or slips through the cracks.  When we say something it has value<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "value" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> because it is not just an automatic response.  When we are awake we awaken<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "awaken" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> those around us, merely by our presence. Our lives do not just happen; we don&#8217;t wonder where the day went. We are aware that we have lived it. Each moment is fuller because we are aware of all the wonders<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "wonders" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> within it.  In a relationship<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "relationship" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> we feel all the things that we felt in the beginning<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "beginning" &lt; ![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt; ![endif]--> because each moment is a beginning when we are alive. Life becomes awe inspiring because we are in it. We feel empowered in the knowledge that we are responsible for how we have lived our lives.</p>

<p>My son has a close friend TJ.  I had noticed his father<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "father" &lt;![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt;![endif]--> at different school functions.  Jerry was blind and had one leg.  His attitude was so completely at peace<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "peace" &lt;![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt;![endif]--> with his situation that I thought he must have spent most of his life this way.  After all, how could anyone seem so happy unless he had had a lifetime to adjust to such tragic circumstances?</p>
<p>I learned that it had only happened a year and a half before.  I was shocked that such relatively little time had passed and that everything was so normal.  This caused me to look back over my life and the many crises and tragedies I myself have had to face and I found that the only thing I had to regret was the length of time I spent on self-pity.  Regardless of what we go through, eventually, we must face that moment when it becomes necessary to evaluate the living of our lives and not our lives themselves.  You see, we have no control over what happens to us, but we do have control over how we react, and how we react could possibly determine the quality of the rest of our lives.  Although it may seem difficult to control a reaction, reaction is a function of the lower mind.  It is a habit.  I had my hair pulled when I was a child so as I grew, anytime someone reached their hand in a way that appeared, to me, to be coming towards my head, I would flinch and pull back.  Once I became conscious of this reaction, I began to do it less and less, first intentionally, and later not reacting became a habit.  It took time to build up our reactions and it will take time to change them, but they <em>can</em> be changed.</p>
<p>We are each being faced, right now, with some form of personal crisis<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "crisis" &lt;![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt;![endif]-->, within a national crisis within a world crisis.  At this time, as perhaps at no other, it would be difficult to find one individual on the planet who is not at this time dealing with a crisis.  We, in this country, are dealing with the effects of the Iraq War, the destruction caused by the climate changes, and our evaporating economy, while at the same time every individual is dealing with some form of personal, political<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "political" &lt;![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt;![endif]-->, financial<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "economical" &lt;![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt;![endif]-->, racial or religious crisis.  So, it helps to know that we are not suffering alone but have actually joined the suffering of mankind.</p>
<p>Putting it in this perspective, we must rise above our personal situations and understand that this is a time of change in the universe.  There have been unprecedented increases in the sunspot activity in recent months.  The atmospheres of various planets including our own have been going through drastic changes.  We have just entered a new millennium, but with all things being synchronistic, we can say that the entire universe is also entering a new era.</p>
<p>For change to occur there must first be a period of breakdown; logically, there cannot be a breakdown without chaos and crisis<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "crisis" &lt;![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt;![endif]-->.  That which is not built to move to the next level must be transformed.  The beginning of the last millennium was dominated by the advent of Christianity.  The first years of breakdown and realignment of previously held beliefs were difficult years.  They were not easy years in which to be incarnated, yet many souls chose them for their growth.</p>
<p>I read a book, <em>&#8220;Life before Life</em>&lt;!&#8211;[if supportFields]&gt;<i> XE &#8220;Life before Life&#8221; </i>&lt;![endif]&#8211;&gt;&lt;!&#8211;[if supportFields]&gt;<i></i>&lt;![endif]&#8211;&gt;<em>&#8220;,</em> by Helen Wambach<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "Helen Wambach" &lt;![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt;![endif]--> which is now out of print, in which she, during the course of a few years, regressed<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "regressed" &lt;![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt;![endif]--> over one thousand people from all over the country, to the time before they were born.  She asked each person to find out the answers to a list of questions, one of which was why they chose this time to be here.  The overwhelming reason was that this is a time of so much change and chaos on one hand, and so much available spiritual knowledge on the other, that it offers each soul<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "soul" &lt;![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt;![endif]--> the rare opportunity in which to fit many lifetimes worth of growth.</p>
<p>When life doesn&#8217;t work the way that, we planned or hoped it would, we can&#8217;t sit around until we rot; feeling miserable because we were given lemons. We just have to make lemonade.  Sure, it is never easy, but the history of the world and the history of our own lives tell us that this too shall pass.  And when it does, it is important that we have not wasted this valuable time in self-pity.  When God closes one door, He opens another.  It may be a struggle at first to face a new door, but it is worth the effort.  For every pain, and every heartache<!--[if supportFields]&gt; XE "heartache" &lt;![endif]--><!--[if supportFields]&gt;&lt;![endif]--> there is a seed of equivalent benefit.  If we take this as an opportunity to move to the next level, we will find that many of us are being given an opportunity to recreate our lives in a way that we never before believed possible. For so many years now I have been living under an cloud of debt.  In the past few years I have felt like the commercial where a couple want to move their house is hovering over their heads.  It has been a constant panic, will we lose the house, the cars, and the insurance - or even, will we eat.  I constantly fear that I will exhaust my reserves of faith if this goes on much longer.  Then, as irony would have it, Easter Sunday my husband walked outside to find that both of our cars had been repossessed.  I was initially distraught, I felt violated, lost, and how could we work without transportation?  I just felt that this was the domino that would knock the whole building of dominos down.  And it could have, no car - no work - no money - no home.  But, a funny thing happened after the shock wore off - I felt just them most exhilarating sense of relief knowing two more payments that we could not afford to make were no longer hovering over our heads.</p>
<p>Just a few years before this, I was in the same position only this time I was renting and six months behind in my rent.  I had this moment - you know - a movie moment when everything stops in mid-action, and I said to myself, ‘I have done all that I can do, I have tried everything that I can try, if we lose everything and end up in a shelter - it will be God&#8217;s will, and we will all learn what we arrived at this experience to learn and climb up from there.&#8217;  In that moment there was an energy shift in my life.  A crisis can last ten years, or it can last ten minutes.  It lasts as long as we remain in crisis mode and ends when we enter acceptance that what is - is, and move on to plan b - or at least to formulating a plan be.  Anything that we do, that is not wallowing in the approaching trauma or existing trauma will shift the energy. I shifts from what was or will be lost - to what was or will be gained.  Acceptance is the train out of suffering.  It is the open door that allows new air to come in.  Above all, acceptance allows us to realize that we are in good hands - always.  And nothing happens that we did not choose before we came - and for the highest of reasons.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p>Each of us is God and all of us are God, in the sense that we are aspects of Him spread out over all of time and space.  When we love ourselves we love God.  It is not looking up saying “God I love you, you are perfect.” It is looking in the mirror and saying “God I love you, you are perfect.”</p>
<p>We are special; we are all on a mission to spread love and light.  If we can learn to love ourselves completely, each part of our being, then by doing that from within we will automatically love each other.  It is by loving and accepting all of our different qualities that we will love and accept all of those souls who represent those qualities around us.</p>
<p>That love will infect the energy of the entire planet and the Universe. This is each person’s individual mission.  Understand that love and hate are like air born viruses.  They travel through the energy field and infect others.  As a virus begins first within an organism, so love and hate each begin first within the individual.  I cannot spread something I do not have.   I must love or hate myself to spread it into the energy environment.</p>
<p>Hate is simply fear.  Love is acceptance as oneness. Love is being whole.  We do come from one source.  We are all different aspects of All that is, and we each contain every aspect of All that is.  As we meet others we are meeting ourselves, like the same piece of the cardboard, just cut into a different shape.  It is truly, as above, so below, as within without.  If I can only love one person, I still am only accepting those aspects of myself that are represented by that one person.  If I cannot love a certain person, and worse, if I hate that person, it is the aspect of myself that is represented by that person that I am not accepting.</p>
<p>We speak of good versus evil, of us versus them – Satan versus God - these are all imaginary divisions.  They are not real.  If you look to Satan as he appears in the old testament, he is not the enemy of God.  If he is the enemy of anyone he is the enemy of man.  The impression is that he just thinks that God gives man too much credit.  He doesn’t believe that man is capable of loving God as the angels do.  So God gives Satan carte blanche as to how he tests mans love of God with one exception – he can’t kill him.  Knowing that Satan, being an archangel, is no dummy – he would use the division and distraction to distance man from God and prove his point, that man doesn’t have what it takes to love God.  Religion is the first and the best tool to divide and conquer humanity.  It makes sense; people are so busy defending their particular religion from other people who are defending their own religion, that God – becomes an afterthought.  The focus becomes the bathwater and not God, the baby in it.  If we were to overcome all of our other boundaries – race, nationality, economic status, religion will still remain Satan’s trump card.  We commit more actions that distance us from our own loving hearts and God, in the name of religion, than even our greed commands.</p>
<p>Remember that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.  We are each links.  If we are not individually in love with the totality of our beings, we cannot benefit the whole.  I can teach you to understand a concept, even the concept of self-love, but I cannot give it to you or to the energy of the universe until I have it.  If we can love ourselves unconditionally – we will see no one as unworthy of our love and embrace the Oneness that we all share.</p>
<p>We are God, in the sense that we are aspects of Him spread out over all of time and space.  When we love ourselves we love God.  It is not looking up saying “God I love you, you are perfect.” It is looking in the mirror and saying “God I love you, you are perfect.”  It is looking at all beings and saying, “God I love you, you are perfect.” When we understand that we need not look to what we cannot see to love God, because we each are a cell in the body of God.  We are not born from God; we are each and all forever a part of God.</p>
<p>The “veil,” the “Maya” is what keeps us looking at a liver cell as opposed to a pancreatic cell as opposed to a skin cell when we are all simply and divinely cells of one beautiful body, and our individual work is what keeps the body alive.</p>
<p>We are a part of All that is.  This is why there is no death. Even our physical bodies do return to the physical substance from which they came; that is not even dying, it is transforming into something greater than before.  When our physical vehicle is no longer of use, we are re-incorporated into spirit. Until we choose to utilize a physical vehicle again.</p>
<p>If we go back to the theory of cells, we can understand that we have an ego, which in its highest sense, is the attachment to our individuality and the experiences we have had throughout our history of incarnation.  The Aquarian Age is a time where we do not blend our individuality into the brotherhood of man. We add our individuality to aid the betterment of mankind.  It is also about taking that individuality and bringing it into the perfect working of the whole.  Just as a liver cell cannot forget it is a liver cell and start functioning as a pancreatic cell.  Ideally it should realize that it is a liver cell of the same material and a part of the same whole as the pancreatic cell and without both there would be no body.</p>
<p>Individuality does not mean that we are floating unattached.  Individuality means that we have our self, our gift, and our unique identity to contribute to the whole of which we are a part.  We are a drop as well as the Ocean.  We need each other because we are each other in the greater sense.  We need God because we are God.</p>
<p>To say that we are children of God is beautiful and it conjures up a beautiful loving image.  Yet it implies that we are separate from God so when we are then told to look within for God, we become confused trying to find something separate but within.  My child comes from me, she loves me and I love her, however we are separate physical beings in life and that separateness is what impels her to perfect the gifts that are contributed by her being and knowing her whole self.</p>
<p>My cells and my organs, on the other hand, are a part of me; they bear the same connection to me as we bear to God.  I may look at every part of me and say this me in this lifetime.  The power and strength of each part of me is at my disposal.  So we must incorporate the premise that we are not children of God but parts of the body of God.  We do not have to look within to find God, we are God within and without.  Not only are we parts of God, but so is everything that exists as far as we can see and as far as there is.</p>
<p>If we can understand this concept and break free of the belief that we are merely creations of God but not God, then we can understand that everything else is connected to and a part of each of us.</p>
<p>God created man in His own image.  Perhaps what that is saying is the God created man from His own image, and a soul that is, His own image.  Understanding that all that exists is God, as each cell within our bodies are connected to the other and dependent upon the other, and the body upon the whole of all if its cells, so too are we connected to every living organism and in some way, aware of it or not, we are dependent upon each. God is economical.  There are no left-over or dispensable parts.  Each species, each organism has a purpose, and if we remove one from existence, we will eventually feel the repercussions of its absence.</p>
<p>We cannot pollute the atmosphere without somehow polluting ourselves.  We cannot weaken the immune system of the earth without having problems with our own immune systems and the immune systems of every living organism that exists on the planet.  Not in just affecting from without, but mirroring the effect within our own organism.  We must remember that as above, as below as within as without.<br />
We cannot consider ourselves separate from God nor can we consider ourselves separate from another individual, even if that individual lives thousands of miles away worships in a different church, speaks a different language and has a different color skin.  We are all connected by the atmosphere that we all share.  We live under the same sky and breathe the same air.  We are each connected by air.  Everything on earth is made of atoms.  How then can we not be connected?</p>
<p>To be a part of something larger than ourselves does not make us less in reality it makes us more.  When we look at the night sky and see all of the stars and all of the universes, this should not make us feel small and insignificant; it should make us feel great and limitless.  Only the belief that one is great can give one the courage and motivation to do great things.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p>I have been looking for signs that would tell me how close we were to the Age of Aquarius, and certainly - what would build it. Then, the other day I had the television on as background noise and I heard a commentator speaking about something that the government had attempted to keep secret. The other person on the show remarked that they should have known better in this time of ‘transparency&#8217; with cell phones and other recording devices always around. That conversation struck me as the ‘sign&#8217; that I had been seeking. I could not find a better word to describe the undercurrent that I had been feeling from the people that I had been counseling over the past few years it was the need to live transparently. That saying, &#8220;The truth shall set you free&#8221; has been playing over and over in my head because over the past few years I have noticed so much of a sense that people were enslaved by the lies that they were living.</p>
<p>I did not grow up in the energetic environment of my parents, grandparents, or great-grandparents so I can&#8217;t say how they felt in their lives. I do know that their lives, at least until my parent&#8217;s generation, were ruled by the roles society had carved out for them. They seemed to have their ‘place&#8217; and the ‘place&#8217; that they could aspire to. I really can&#8217;t say whether or not they were happy once they arrived in their ‘place&#8217;. Were wives generally happy serving their husbands and catering to the needs of their children? Did they have needs of their own? If they did, did they believe that the sacrificing of those needs was a worthwhile price to pay for what they received in return? Did they honestly believe that the Church was an ordained pillar of righteousness and all who served were above reproach? Did they honestly believe that our elected officials were moral and honest leaders above and self-serving desires or ulterior motives? In the age of Pisces, illusion is real. And obviously the set up was all an illusion. With all of the rugs being overturned and all of the closets being opened today, it seemed that on the whole, they either closed their eyes, fooling themselves into believing what they were told, and not looking behind closed doors or asking too many questions, or, they told themselves that their lives would be better off if they just lived as if it were right. I imagine that the whole ‘person fit the mold&#8217; thing, rather than, ‘the mold fit the person&#8217;, worked for generations.</p>
<p>What I have noticed in people that I have counseled is a profound unhappiness within seemingly happy lives. In other words, I keep hearing people say that they have everything that others say should make them happy, everything that they believed would make them happy, but they are deeply unhappy. This unhappiness is compounded by the fact that they feel ungrateful because they have what others seem to want. So they feel ashamed of their pain and as a result, too guilty to seek help. If they do seek help, the help that they seek is help in fixing themselves so that they can find the happiness that they are supposed to have with the lives that they are living rather than finding the courage to look within their souls for keys to the true life that would contain their happiness. I am seeing people who either have what they believed would make them happy, or what they were told would make them happy but instead it is the cause of their pain. It is this widespread inner discontent that changes the world. This sense of dissatisfaction - this intense need for some kind of change grows within the collective unconscious until it reaches critical mass and something happens to force a change. We are accustomed to quick fixes, but we need a lasting resolution. Humanity is entering an age that is taking it from the surface to the heart, from the world to the soul, from a world of greater and lesser beings to a world of equality, honesty, freedom and brotherhood. All of the boxes are the same as they always have been, there are still the many ‘things&#8217; out there, the many awards, achievements and ways to find self-gratification - and goodies to buy to advertise our personal greatness, so that we are not overlooked, but <strong><em>God moved the cheese </em></strong>- the happy - to another place.</p>
<p>Everyone wants the brass ring, but we are conditioned to want the brass ring that we can have. Everyone can&#8217;t be the queen of England, but some people can, for a time, be the queen of Broadway. So it is to that, which they aspire. Up until about seventy years ago, people were able to be happy because their expectations were very limited. If you were a woman - then you had your list of achievable goals. If your father was a coal miner, you had your list of achievable goals, if you were Black, you had your list of achievable goals and to get to the top of <em>your</em> list, or even close, left most people at least content and usually happy with their lives.</p>
<p>It seems to me that World War II pretty much blew that boat out to sea. Suddenly, people found themselves in strange new roles - roles that were believed and accepted as beyond their reach, or just plain unnatural for them. Women went out to work, formed sports teams, took over supervising positions, supported the country, brought home the bacon and cooked it. Whites had to fight with and often found their lives in the hands of Negro soldiers, all lines, including the color lines were temporarily but still irrevocably crossed. Factory workers became Sergeants, bosses became privates, all in all, everyone found themselves living somehow outside of the box that seemed before to be set in stone. Although the world expected everyone to return to their original roles -and most had to - the taste of <em>the possible</em> never left their palates. Soon, ‘Equality&#8217; was to be the never-ending hum in the background of life from then on. The first key-word for Aquarius was ushered into the age.</p>
<p>Of course, the first harbingers of change are always met with violent opposition, so the shouts for equality were labeled Communist, and the McCarthy era showed that those in power would do anything to combat the massive changes that a movement towards freedom and equality would bring. The generation of children born during and after that war was, as would be required, the &#8220;Me&#8221; generation. If you think about it, this was the perfect and timely reaction to all of the &#8220;everything but me&#8221; generations that came before. It made sense because we had to come from ‘what is good for the whole is good for the parts&#8217; to ‘what is good for the parts is good for the whole&#8217; in order to get to our destination of ‘the whole is equal to the parts&#8217; - Aquarius. Change - this kind of change - is not something that happens, like walking out of one room into another. We must transition. For more than two thousand years, power has been held by those who maintained the greatest secrecy. Sometimes it was the manipulation of the ignorant populace by the few who understood the workings and cycles of nature, to pretend to create miracles, such as eclipses, lightening, or droughts. Or, it was by the use of the fear of the gods or God to manipulate the people into submission. Today it is still done, but more through covert actions of institutions, governments, covert deals made with those who manipulate the world&#8217;s economies.</p>
<p>The church has always governed in secrecy the Vatican contains vaults of secret writings, hidden documents etc. For so many years the perverted actions of the clergy went on, hidden and protected by the accepted secrecy so pervasive in this age. Government officials hid their true identities and true motives behind vast networks of cover-ups for as long as we can remember. Then suddenly, bit by bit, the truths have been unearthed, perhaps beginning with the Dead Sea Scrolls and the scrolls found at Nag Hammadi. This, followed by expository journalism, tabloid press, cell phones, hidden cameras, whistle blowers and the internet has made for a growing overall transparency. This is a time of revelations. Everything hidden is being revealed. It is this truth - this revelation - that will ultimately set us free of the shackles of deception and illusion. People said one thing and lived another. We idolized our celebrities as perfect and they had to maintain a public persona. When I was a child I heard the fear of one day having &#8220;Big Brother&#8221; watching our every move. Today, big Brother is watching us, but we are also watch Big Brother. Everything and everyone is being exposed, more and more. It will only continue to grow. We ourselves are being exposed to ourselves and any lives that we have been living that are not true to our hearts, and our souls, will cause more and more of us heightened levels of pain. I once looked at the supermarket counters loaded with tabloid papers as a part of the degeneration of our society. Until I saw a headline in one of those tabloids saying that two actors, renowned for their humanitarian efforts were going on a spending spree, flying doctors over continents, spending upwards of eight figures for a home and I realized that if we admire people if must be not just for what they do but also for how they live.</p>
<p>Today, with the world as small as it is, it seems a bit obscene to live large, while others are struggling just to live. And living large is ok, for those who claim with all honesty and candor to be card carrying members of the greedy few. It&#8217;s honest. But if you profess a sense of responsibility to the world and the suffering within it, if you believe that to whom much is given, much is expected, and want your name in <em>that</em> book, then you must not just <em>do</em> charity but live a charitable life. It is time for us to be ourselves, live as ourselves, wear one face, and walk our talk. This is what the Age of Aquarius is all about. When everyone says, &#8220;This is who I am and I am proud of it&#8221;, tabloids will have nothing to expose. When we no longer put people on pedestals, we will no longer feel the need to knock them off. There are no pedestals in Aquarius. As we draw nearer and nearer to that Age we will learn that death is not the only great equalizer. God has moved the cheese. The power box is now empty, the material wealth box is now empty, the public adoration box is now empty. The sooner we figure out that God has put the cheese in the box of love given, time shared, selfless service and brotherhood, the sooner we will find the transition into the new Age a rewarding journey of gain, and not a painful succession of losses.</p>
<p>Secrets require darkness. A life that cannot stand up under the Sun twenty-four hours a day is a painful life lived in fear and darkness. But sometimes we are more afraid of what will happen to us in the light than we are of the continued fear of the darkness. When we are here, then the Universe must intervene and expose us to the light that we have hidden from and regardless of what we lose from exposure to the light, it pales in comparison to the sense of joy and freedom that comes from not ever having to hide again. When no one has to hide, when no one wants to hide, when no one will hide - we will know that we have officially become a part of the Age of Aquarius.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p><em>There was a time when this was a nation – not of states, but of tribes.<span> </span>The nation had a rich history that was known well by its proud Natives.<span> </span>I don&#8217;t even know what the nation was called because immigrants, some armed with guns, some armed with liquor, some armed with guns, destroyed the nation.<span> </span>They weakened the natives, robbed them of their food supplies, their livelihood and finally their homes.</em></p>
<p><em>The invading immigrants built a new nation, not out of tribes but out of states.<span> </span>Generations found the old nation vanishing along with its inhabitants.<span> </span>The remaining descendents of that nation and its tribes were relegated to small pockets across the land called reservations.</em></p>
<p><em>The new Nation, called the United States of America, then built </em><em>itself</em><em> into a powerful nation, inhabited by its own generations of proud natives.<span> </span>Until one day, immigrants, armed some with drugs and some with investment capital came along and weakened the natives, robbed them of their food supplies, their livelihood and finally their homes.<span> </span>Generations are finding this nation vanishing along with its once proud inhabitants.<span> </span>The new Nation, called the United Investment Holdings of the World, will build itself into a powerful fund for wealthy corporations around the globe.<span> </span>Its inhabitants, loyalists only to their home nations will also remain proud – but will never be natives</em>.</p>
<p>If you think that it couldn&#8217;t happen to us – so did the original Native Americans.<span> </span>Perhaps it is the revenge of the Great Spirit, or the result of greed – or maybe just a cycle returning to its beginning point.<span> </span>Whatever it is, this country is losing itself.<span> </span>My father came to this country in 1918, like thousands of other immigrants, to leave behind old roots, old nationalities and become a part of the American Dream.<span> </span>He and countless others came here to plant the seeds of their dreams in new soil and to build a life as an American from the land that was America.<span> </span>They came here to melt into the melting pot – leave their old identities behind – to speak American, to dream American and to become American.<span> </span>They came, not only to pledge allegiance to the flag, but to pledge allegiance to fulfilling the promise of Democracy and of the Constitution of the United States.<span> </span>They came to be a part of that becoming.</p>
<p>Americans lost sight of their nation and its meaning, they lost sight of history.<span> </span>They saw only the gold.<span> </span>To Americans, the land did not represent its original principals, its original spirit, it represented booms, and rushes.<span> </span>There were gold rushes, silver rushes, oil rushes, and real estate booms.<span> </span>Immigrants began to come from other countries, not to become Americans, but only to off of America while remaining true to their homelands.<span> </span>Some, found that they could remain in their own countries and export their drugs to America – living better than most Americans, off of the weakness of Americans.<span> </span>They began killing Americans with their drugs, while buying American and Americans with their money – all the while never even crossing the border.<span> </span>Their effect on this nation is no different than the effect of the immigrants who came with small pox to give to the Native Americans.<span> </span>Others, have come armed with capital to invest, robbing the people of their incomes, their ability to feed themselves – while keeping all of the profits safe within their own native lands.</p>
<p>Perhaps this is what happens when you build a dream instead of a nation.<span> </span>When you build on what it has to sell rather than the people who make it a nation.<span> </span>I once thought that what was great about this country was that it was the only country founded on dreams and ideals.<span> </span>I realize that what made this country beautiful – the dreams – the ideals – were never planted into the soil of the nation which is its people.<span> </span>The funny thing is, that we miss this country, we know that it is slipping through our fingers, but we still don&#8217;t get <em>why</em>.<span> </span>We still don&#8217;t see, that like the American Indians, back when they were Indians and not Native Americans, our identity as a nation is intrinsically connected with the land that our nation inhabits.<span> </span>Our identity as a nation is intrinsically connected with the businesses that it builds and the people – the Americans – that they feed.</p>
<p>Again, it could just be karma.<span> </span>The nation was built on stolen land, perhaps that destines it to having the land stolen from it.<span> </span>Karma is only balance.<span> </span>The nation has a karma – not in deed – but in intention.<span> </span>Balancing karma does not require the impossible; it does not require undoing what cannot be undone.<span> </span>We can balance karma by realizing the error of what we have done and making a commitment never to do it again.<span> </span>Instead, what we did was commit to becoming a nation united in strength and action rather than tribes, divided and weak.<span> </span>And, as a nation united, we will not do what we did to obtain our land.<span> </span>However, rather than dividing into tribes, we have divided into mega-corporations, competing with each other for profits, just as the tribes competed with each other for land.<span> </span>The corporations have enough autonomous power to have aided in the weakening of the nation – no longer united as one people, but divided by the competing interests of different corporations.<span> </span>A corporation has not heart, no home, no loyalty other than to itself.<span> </span>Its home is where its profits are.<span> </span>Capitalism has reached the point where corporations not only control the goods and services of the nation, but they control the flow of information.<span> </span>Whosoever controls the flow of information controls the nation.<span> </span><span> </span></p>

<p><strong><em><span style="font-size:10pt;"> </span></em></strong><span>The mainstream Media providing the most widely available information is privately owned.<span> </span>It is free under the first amendment to provide whatever information it chooses, even if that information is ultimately in its own best interest.<span> </span>It can choose, and often does, to serve the government which it was designed to censure.<span> </span>There is no branch of government that is not in some way indebted to one if not many major corporations.<span> </span>Capitalism has circumvented the Democracy that our forefathers attempted so desperately to ensure the people.<span> </span>We spend so much money and energy in an attempt to protect our shores from a foreign military invasion, that we have completely lost sight of the fact that there would be no need for any nation to spend money and lives attacking us when all they have to do is buy us, business by business, loan by loan, building by building.<span> </span>It may be a hostile takeover – but we invented them. <span> </span>However we look at it, we are being killed by our own poison.</span></p>
<p><span><span> </span>Unlike the Native Americans of the past, we understand the value of union.<span> </span>We are in a position to take back our nation as a people and to put the rights and the freedom of the people before those of any entity be it the government, a corporation or a religious group.<span> </span>No organization should not have the rights of individuals, it should not under any circumstances have rights greater than those of an individual and it should never be allowed the freedom to act in any way that is contrary to the rights of each individual as defined in the constitution. <span> </span>The only organization granted rights in the bill of rights is the press.<span> </span>Not the press as a corporation but, the press as the bringers of information to the people. We can still save our country from being no more than a piece of valuable real estate, but to do this, we must remember what it meant to be an American before it was equated with being a capitalist.<span> </span>Capitalism is the monster that flourished from the seeds of Democracy, just as Communism was the monster that flourished from the seeds of socialism.<span> </span>When what is good for the whole, becomes less important than what is good for the few, the whole is destined to deteriorate regardless of the label given to the system that caused it.<span> </span><span> </span></span></p>
<p><span> We are in a bad state.<span> </span>And, as the one stock that most of the world&#8217;s investments are tied into, we will not go down alone.<span> </span>But we can change, even if the change is a slow one.<span> </span>Electing Barack Obama as the Democratic nominee tells the world that we are seeking change.<span> </span>Electing Obama President, will place us on the path of change.<span> </span>But only by becoming the United People of America, only by pulling in and giving back to this country and all of its people, all of its diversity, only by reinvesting our hearts into the spirit of the Constitution, can we hope to become the change that we seek.<span> </span>We may have financial problems, but as Americans we are rich in spirit.<span> </span>We have to stop this fire sale mentality that keeps the Carpetbaggers coming in.<span> </span>We must value &#8216;made in America&#8217; above all else.<span> </span>Any entity that does not give more to the people of this country than it takes for itself is the meaning of un-American.<span> </span>This country needs every to build itself up from within, the educational system, employment, and healthcare must be repaired.<span> </span>It is time for those who have gained so much from this country to give as much back.<span> </span>We need a government that demands it, we need a government that puts the individual above all else.<span> </span>The whole that sees its parts as expendable will eventually expend itself.<span> </span>This country is being divided up and sold off.<span> </span>But we can stop the sale, we can reclaim what is ours, but only through union.<span> </span>So long as the parts are abandoning the whole, the whole has no chance.<span> </span>We need to come together as a nation and worry about our own soil, stop worrying about some terrorist group attacking us, we are selling ourselves off at way below cost. </span></p>

<p>Let’s look at what the history of man has shown us about God.  The most obvious thing for a person who believes in reason is that if there were a specific path to pleasing God, no one has found it.  There is no one person or group of worshippers or non-worshippers that illness, poverty, suffering and loss have not visited.  There exists no list of do’s and don’ts that when followed will exempt anyone or any group from suffering or that will guarantee anyone or any group happiness on this earth.   Reasonably, we may presume that whatever God is, it is neutral.</p>
<p>If God were to write a book, one and only one with words that could not in any way be altered, omitted or added to, any God that is worthy of that divine status would not write one word that would not be true and accurate until the end of time, perhaps a great feet for mortal man, but nothing at all for the one and only God who knows all that was, all that is and all that ever will be.  As a reasonable person of the twenty-first century, I would expect no less if I were asked, or required to believe that every word in the book came from this omnipresent, all knowing, all seeing God.  I would expect that the book would not state that the sun, the moon and the stars revolve around the earth.  I would expect that God would know that this is not true.   I would expect that God would not say “Thou shalt not kill” and then devote whole chapters in His Book to who and when to kill.  Exactly what part of “contradiction” could I reasonably assume that this God does not understand?</p>
<p>It is just the fact that killing is so final, and the ‘who, when, and where’ are often so confusing, that that makes the book itself a map to failure.  Let’s look at one of the reasons for death that I am personally very sensitive to, the killing of false prophets:</p>
<p>Kill False Prophets</p>
<p>Deuteronomy 13:1-5 NLT<br />
“Suppose there are prophets among you, or those who have dreams about the future, and they promise you signs or miracles, and the predicted signs or miracles take place.  If the prophets then say, &#8216;Come, let us worship the gods of foreign nations,&#8217; do not listen to them.  The LORD your God is testing you to see if you love him with all your heart and soul.  Serve only the LORD your God and fear him alone.  Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him.  The false prophets or dreamers who try to lead you astray must be put to death, for they encourage rebellion against the LORD your God, who brought you out of slavery in the land of Egypt.  Since they try to keep you from following the LORD your God, you must execute them to remove the evil from among you.”</p>
<p>Deuteronomy 18:20-22 NLT<br />
“ But any prophet who claims to give a message from another god or who falsely claims to speak for me must die.&#8217;  You may wonder, &#8216;How will we know whether the prophecy is from the LORD or not?&#8217;  If the prophet predicts something in the LORD&#8217;s name and it does not happen, the LORD did not give the message.  That prophet has spoken on his own and need not be feared,”</p>
<p>In the first passage, God states that if the prediction comes true, then God is testing you to see if you love him enough to know that this is a false prophet, then a few passages down God answers the question on everyone’s mind, “How do we know a false prophet?”  Here, the answer is that we know a false prophet because what he says will not come true.   Could God be a tricky God? Could part of the test be figuring out which commands are to be followed and which are just meant to weed out the unholy?</p>
<p>If God created man, then God created the ability to reason that man has been endowed with, that ability which helps us to discern what is valid and enduring from what is not.  Our reason and our intelligence evolve as the world in which we must survive evolves, and our ability to be discriminating evolves with ever growing quantity of choices that we face.  Man does not have fur; he neither has claws, nor sharp teeth.  He does have the mental agility to adapt to the world as it changes.  This means that in 2007, we will not put a woman in jail for wearing patent leather shoes because they allow a man to see her tempting private parts.  We are able to remove laws, made by men, which have no obvious relevance to our time and do not in any way protect or enhance our quality of life.</p>
<p>These gifts of reason and intelligence with which we have been endowed in order to insure our ultimate survival must be allowed, to examine the Books that many call the “Literal words and doctrine of the One True God”.   The fact that throughout the long history of these books, and in the name of the God within their pages, man has committed the most violent, cruel, and inhumane crimes and atrocities that mankind has ever witnessed, obligates every member of our species to relegate these books to the classification of mythology and place them on the same shelves as those housing the books of all other ancient gods.</p>
<p>If we do not do this, we will suffer a fate that has been seen by no man since the dawn of history.  Our weapons of mass destruction will be used by those who place their faith in the literal words and doctrine within the pages of these books, and they will ultimately do what is unequivocally demanded by anyone who calls himself faithful to the Word, and that will be to bring about the near extinction of humanity.  This will happen because those whom we are labeling terrorists are in truth not terrorists at all but simply the most deeply devout.  So long as these books are held as the ‘only true’ words of God, those demands of the complete annihilation of non-believers that run through their pages will find those who are faithful enough to fulfill.</p>
<p>What we know is that consciousness in a mechanical outcome of any physical processes, that we not only exist, that our world exists and that we are able to be conscious of this world and of ourselves is something beyond material explanation and therefore it falls into the realms of the spiritual.  So perhaps it is that realm of the spiritual that we can begin to call God.  That there are and have always been people who could see the future – some, in astounding detail, must tell the reasonable person that there is some form of a plan laid out before us.  Perhaps, we could call a part of what is God.  We may begin to get an idea of what God is by observing those things and experiences that seem to be just beyond the “how?” of the world and somewhere within the “why?”,  of it.</p>
<p>Intelligent reason is important to us, for it is what we must use in order to eliminate what is not God.  We cannot use our brains to know God because we only know what we ourselves to be.  As human beings, we can only know God if we attribute humanness to God.  We cannot understand God with our minds without attributing thinking, and feeling to God.  However, this does not mean that we cannot experience God.</p>
<p>We can experience God when we leave our minds, our thoughts, our feelings, our desires, our fears, and journey within through meditation or deep contemplation into that place that is devoid of all of those things.  When we do this, we find peace, we find joy, we find everything and we find nothing.  We experience God when we are so centered and so focused that for a small window in time we know that every arrow we send out will hit its mark; we are in the “zone”, thereto, we experience God.  No description of this experience can be adequate.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p>There are things that we don&#8217;t understand about waging a war on terror.  First, what is terror?  Terror is, 1.  An overwhelming feeling of fear and anxiety 2.  A person who inspires fear or dread, 3.  The use of extreme fear in order to coerce people (especially for political reasons).  Understanding what terror is and what a terrorist does, still does not help us to identify what a terrorist looks like, what color uniform does a terrorist wear?  Well, in this country some terrorists have worn white sheets.  Others, called “Skin Heads”, have been bald.  Some terrorist groups, such as the Arian Nation, don&#8217;t publicly sport a particular uniform or hairstyle; however, their terrorist cells are not particularly difficult to find.  There are the other terrorists who terrorize entire neighborhoods in our own country, we often refer to them as gangs, but since 9/11 I think that we should call them what they are, they are terrorist cells.    And they are recruiting our own young people on a daily basis.  And lets call a spade a spade, isn&#8217;t a hate crime just another form of terrorism? By definition, and not by advertising slogan, many would say, and have said that our own government used terrorism to ensnare us in a war in on terror.  Timothy McVee was a terrorist, have we captured and eliminated all of his known terrorist associates?   Is there really a difference between an imported terrorist and the homegrown variety?  Isn&#8217;t terrorized…terrorized regardless of the skin color, nationality or religious affiliation of the terrorist or the ones being terrorized?</p>
<p>The next problem that I see is this, terrorists, as I have just mentioned, come in all shapes and sizes, and live in every country.   It is very easy for the Iraqi people to label us terrorists.  After all, they did not do anything to us as a nation.  Now, we do not consider ourselves terrorists because we were attacked…by someone…maybe not them…but someone who looked like them and happened to live nearby.  So, obviously, when you kill someone’s family members, neighbors, friends, or countrymen, it just might make a person want to kill you.  Since we are sending our troops over to Iraq and Afghanistan to kill terrorists, and since we have no idea what terrorists look like, what gender they are, or even how old they tend to be, it is safe to say that we just may be killing and terrorizing a few people who may not be terrorists.  We are perfect examples of the idea that when innocent people are attacked, sometimes, they want to get revenge on their attacker,  so, if you go into someone’s house, or country and kill people because they might have a gun or a bomb, but, it turns out that either they didn&#8217;t or they were actually themselves being held hostage by someone who did, anyone left alive, or related to those thoughtlessly killed, might just have been turned into someone who needs to get an eye for an eye, or get you before you kill anyone else, or a terrorist.</p>
<p>Now, in May of 2003, we won the war against the Iraqi government and its forces, just ask the President - we even had a victory party.  So, for the past four years since the war ended we have just been sending over our troops to die and to kill civilians, no soldiers, no uniforms, just men, women and children who don&#8217;t really understand why, if we won the war, we are still killing them, and, I might add, might would really like us to stop.</p>
<p>We really don&#8217;t have any justification for the killing.  Our troops are forced to kill innocent civilians because they don&#8217;t have any way to tell who is the enemy with a gun or a bomb or who isn&#8217;t, under those circumstances, the only safe thing for them to do is to kill everyone.  The thing is, if we don&#8217;t want our troops attacked, and we don&#8217;t, we need to bring them home.  If your children went down the block to a neighbor’s house, and the neighbors children kept beating them up, what advise would give them?  Would you say, “Well if they are attacking you, kill them”, or, would you tell them to get the hell out of the neighbors yard?  We&#8217;re in the neighbors yard.  We&#8217;re on their property.  Even if they hated us, this particular neighbor did not come into our yard and attack us.  How can we say that we are defending ourselves when we are in their yard?  Go home and defend yourself, at least it makes more sense.<br />
If we had put as much money into the war on poverty, or the war on crime, or the war on drugs as we have into the war on terror, we might have been able to win one of them.  We are waging a war, declared by people who believe in an “eye for an eye”, against people who believe in “an eye for an eye” and any dummy can tell you that the only way that war will be won is when there are no more eyes left to lose or take.</p>
<p>This war can be won.  If we value the lives of the children, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, fathers, mothers and fellow countrymen that we have sent and will send to be lost overseas, then bringing them home is a victory that is priceless.  The truth is that a war on terror, is a war on fear.  It is not a war against a human enemy.  It is a war against someone, anyone who feels that they have a reason to hate.  Hate has never been killed away.  The truth is that every war being waged in this world today is founded in hatred, fear, and or prejudice.  These are the enemies of the twenty-first century and killing fuels them, and suffering fuels them.  They are impervious to guns and bombs.  I believe that we can win the war on terror by fighting the war on ignorance, hatred, prejudice, and yes, by returning to the war on poverty.   Our real enemies do not live within nations but within the living conditions of the people of all nations.  The only weapon on earth that will guarantee peace for us and for all nations is the heart.</p>
<p>It was Gandhi’s heart that brought an end to British oppression. It was Nelson Mandela’s heart that brought an end to apartheid in South Africa.  The truth about the war on terror is that we can end it, or it will end us.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p>Our bodies are composed of the same minerals as the earth upon which we live. All life on the earth is basically composed of the earth. It is the earth that nurtures and feeds our bodies and life that lives on the planet. However, despite the earth’s nourishment and the immense force of gravity that holds all life forms not rooted in the earth on its surface, our Universe revolves around and all life on earth grows towards the Sun. Our planet and all forms of life that live on it depend on the Sun for growth. While the Sun itself does not feed us, and it does not shelter us, the light that it gives us calls all life to grow. It pulls us upward and away from the earth, upward towards itself. Even plants turn their leaves towards the Sun, towards this light.</p>
<p>All who have had near death experience recall seeing and being drawn towards the “Light”, and most of us believe that when we leave our bodies our souls are finally taken into the “Light”. If we allow that this journey here on earth is a symbolic experience for the soul, then the light of the Sun is symbolic of what we are, what we have come from, and where we must strive to reach. It is a symbolic reminder to the soul of life, to the spark of light within all, that it is a spark of divine light and what it is, and what that means, is more important than where it is. It is letting us know inside that what we are is eternal and where we are is temporary.</p>
<p>The Sun activates, heals and nourishes the Spirit within all living things. It reminds us that although we all live on different parts of the planet, we all face the same Light, we all grow towards the same Light, and there is but one. The Sun lights the earth, while the Moon lights the darkness. We revolve around the Sun, we revolve around the Light - the center of all beings is the same one Light. The moon revolves around the earth, it has no light of its own, yet the Sun sends enough light to the Moon to tell us that even in the darkness, there is light. The moon reflects the light of the Sun and the earth reflects the spirit of life, but the Sun shines as a reminder to us of what is being reflected.</p>
<p>Just as a tree is drawn by the Sun to fulfill the promise of the seed, man is drawn by the Sun to fulfill the promise of humanity. We are asked to be humane, to rise above other animals on the planet. We have mastered the art of tool making, this does not really place us above our nearest relatives in the animal kingdom, our agility and creativity have allowed us to improve upon the things that all animals do in some form or another. We have taken the fulfillment of our animalistic needs to the level of mastery, but we have not freed ourselves from the yoke of the animal kingdom by mastering the art of being humane and spiritual beings.</p>
<p>Fear, need, and the genetic imperative to survive drive herds to instinctively protect their own, they drive animals to instinctively nurture their young. To nurture and defend one’s family, tribe, city, religious group, race, country, even species, is earthly animal instinct. To do it with manufactured foods, man made materials, genetically enhanced herbs, and weapons of mass destruction shows nothing more than we are the cleverest of apes, no surprise we are on the top of the food chain, but none of that makes us human. What makes us human is our self-awareness. We are aware of the spirit that dwells within our bodies. We are aware that we are more than this body. We are capable, through this awareness, of great selfless service. We know that in releasing the little egoic, animal self, we merge with the greater self symbolized by the Sun that radiates its life giving energy to all life on the planet and not just to one group.</p>
<p>Something inside of all living things knows that the Sun represents life in its truest eternal form and so everything on this planet grows in the direction of the Sun. All life on this planet exists in the shadow of death, and only humans have been endowed with the ability to step out of the shadow and into the light without first having to die. This is what we must do in order to save ourselves. We must emulate the Sun, and radiate through love, and compassion, by embracing, nurturing, and protecting every life that the Sun shines upon. In this way we step up, we step out of the animal kingdom and become the fullness of the seed from which we have come. Our living, our being will be a true reflection of our real essence.</p>

<p><strong><em></em></strong><br />
When I was a child I was impressed by the way in which people responded to my father. It was clear that people treated him with respect. The atmosphere in a room took on an air of deference when he entered; people seemed to be drawn to him by some unknown force. His words drew an audience no matter how softly he spoke. He emanated power. He was as difficult to describe as to forget. Yet, he seemed to be completely unaffected.</p>
<p>He was my father, and although I enjoyed the way that I was treated because of that fact; I felt that my feelings for him were obviously based upon the fact that he was my father and so I could not understand why others looked at him with that same awe that I did as a daughter.</p>
<p>During the time when anyone with dark skin would have to enter through the back door, my father would enter through the front. Instead of stopping him; people would pretend that they did not see him. This was how my world worked. There were no rules, only agreements and when one did not agree; everyone else moved out of the way.</p>
<p>My parents made an odd couple in the early fifties. My mother was Hungarian and Jewish with blond hair and green eyes. One day in the mid-nineteen fifties, my parents were driving somewhere in the South and a Policeman pulled them over. My father knew that they were pulled over because he was Black and she was White, so he looked the officer straight in the eyes and told him that my mother was Black. The officer let them go. He just did not seem to be subject to the same rules as other people. I could not understand why the river seemed to flow in a different direction for him, I never noticed him asking it to.</p>
<p>When my father died, the minister said, “This was a man who was loved and hated, but whether you loved him or you hated him, you always called him Mr. Gibel, with respect.” The minister had never even met my father, but he knew of him.</p>
<p>His gift to me as a father was his passion for being. He demanded that I honor my own being, and compare myself to no one. My father believed in God and himself. He knew himself as a man and when he said it, it had meaning.</p>
<p>He was completely self-centered. By this I mean that his sense of being was centered within. He sought no outside approval and accepted no outside criticism. He set his own rules and he lived by them. He listened to the voice from within and no other.</p>
<p>I cannot say that he had self-confidence in the way that we think of it. Confidence was not an issue. He was secure in the belief that we create our own world whether we do a good job of it or a bad job of it is another issue. He did not look at himself in the mirror and say, “I love you”, it was more of, “I am”. He had no time for blaming society or hating anyone, he dealt with what was, faced it and walked through it.</p>
<p>This is The Power of Being. The belief that what God created only God can affect. The knowing deep within that God creates us in His image and for that reason we are fully capable of realizing any dream, accomplishing any feat and reaching any goal that we choose. It is only the One who created us that can judge for better or worse our lives and our living.</p>
<p>It was this centeredness that people responded to. Most people are not sure about anything. Most people will follow anyone who seems to know where he or she is going. Of course I did not know my father when he was young. I believe that he had a very difficult childhood. I feel certain that this acceptance was hard won. From what he told me of his life, I believe he came to this point simply because there was nowhere else to turn in his perspective. Being a survivor, the only way to survive is ultimately becoming your own strongest ally.</p>
<p>My father’s life taught me that things were not the way they appeared; there was something wrong with this picture. He would not allow me to be a victim because he showed me that no one could victimize us unless we give him or her that power. He showed me that nothing stops us that we do not buy into. He showed me The Power of Being through his living. When we create our lives from within, instead of simply trying to fit into the world that is without, we have all of the power that we need to succeed in anything that we attempt.</p>
<p>I am bi-racial. That didn’t help me find who I was as a child living in a world that begins with labels. On the surface it would seem that I was Black. But to Black children I was only Black until they saw my mother. Being is not how we are identified by others; it is how we identify ourselves. However, as children we identify ourselves with those around us, we identify ourselves first in the way that our family identifies itself. When our family has no single identity, we must find our own, skipping the first part. So, we begin to find where we fit in with others – since my family didn’t have a group identity, I didn’t have a place to fit in. After much rejection, and minimal acceptance, I chose to identify with my father. I chose to be Denise. I limited my identification to my being. So, from there I journeyed to find my roots, my history – and beginning, not with a racial or ethnic group, but with a single self – the only direction of that journey was within to find my soul and my true Being.</p>
<p>I did this because I felt like a rootless tree – easy to tumble – lacking in support. I needed to root myself, just for the sake of survival. However, when I did, I found that the world related to me in the same way that it related to my father. I found that people began to relate to me in the same way that I related to myself. They neither saw, nor looked for what group I belonged to as a reference as to how I was to be treated. They saw only me, they saw my Being and what they saw, what they related to was greater than the packaged and labeled version of a self, and they saw and related to a Being who was a reflection of a soul – instead of a reflection of a group identity. Seeing the change in how people responded to me taught me that we are no less and no more than we believe ourselves to be. If we release the history – the baggage of a race, a religion, a nationality or a family name, and become only who we really are, then the power of pure being becomes the essence of the energy that others feel in our presence. Our lives are no longer shaped by those who came before us, but by ourselves. This is the power of Being.</p>

If only you do not pick and choose.<br />
Neither love nor hate,<br />
And you will clearly understand.<br />
Be off by a hair,<br />
And you are as far from it as heaven from earth.<br />
If you want the Way to appear,<br />
Be neither for nor against.<br />
For and against opposing each other<br />
This is the mind’s disease.<br />
Without recognizing the mysterious principle<br />
It is useless to practice quietude.<br />

<p><span style="font-family:Arial,Arial CE,Verdana,sans-serif;color:black;">The Way is perfect like great space,<br />
Without lack, without excess.<br />
Because of grasping and rejecting,<br />
You cannot attain it.<br />
Do not pursue conditioned existence;<br />
Do not abide in acceptance of emptiness.<br />
In oneness and equality,<br />
Confusion vanishes of itself.<br />
Stop activity and return to stillness,<br />
and that stillness will be even more active.<br />
Merely stagnating in duality,<br />
How can you recognize oneness?<br />

<p><span style="font-family:Arial,Arial CE,Verdana,sans-serif;color:black;">If you fail to penetrate oneness,<br />
Both places lose their function.<br />
Banish existence and you fall into existence;<br />
Follow emptiness and you turn your back on it.<br />
Excessive talking and thinking<br />
Turn you from harmony with the Way.<br />
Cut off talking and thinking,<br />
And there is nowhere you cannot penetrate.<br />
Return to the root and attain the principle;<br />
Pursue illumination and you lose it.<br />
One moment of reversing the light<br />
Is greater than the previous emptiness.<br />
The previous emptiness is transformed;<br />
It was all a product of deluded views.<br />
No need to seek the real;<br />
Just extinguish your views.<br />
</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Arial,Arial CE,Verdana,sans-serif;color:black;">Do not abide in dualistic views;<br />
Take care not to seek after them.<br />
As soon as there is right and wrong<br />
The mind is scattered and lost.<br />
Two comes from one,<br />
Yet do not even keep the one.<br />
When one mind does not arise,<br />
Myriad dharmas are without defect.<br />
Without defect, without dharmas,<br />
No arising, no mind.<br />
The subject is extinguished with the object.<br />
The object sinks away with the subject.<br />
Object is object because of the subject:<br />
Subject is subject because of the object.<br />
Know that the two<br />
Are originally one emptiness.<br />
In one emptiness the two are the same,<br />
Containing all phenomena.<br />
Not seeing fine or coarse,<br />
How can there be any bias?<br />

<p><span style="font-family:Arial,Arial CE,Verdana,sans-serif;color:black;">The Great Way is broad,<br />
Neither easy nor difficult.<br />
With narrow views and doubts,<br />
Haste will slow you down.<br />
Attach to it and you lose the measure;<br />
The mind will enter a deviant path.<br />
Let it go and be spontaneous,<br />
Experience no going or staying.<br />
</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Arial,Arial CE,Verdana,sans-serif;color:black;">Accord with your nature, unite with the Way,<br />
Wander at ease, without vexation.<br />
Bound by thoughts, you depart from the real;<br />
And sinking into a stupor is as bad.<br />
It is not good to weary the spirit.<br />
Why alternate between aversion and affection?<br />
</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Arial,Arial CE,Verdana,sans-serif;color:black;">If you wish to enter the one vehicle,<br />
Do not be repelled by the sense realm.<br />
With no aversion to the sense realm,<br />
You become one with true enlightenment.<br />
The wise have no motives;<br />
Fools put themselves in bondage.<br />
One dharma is not different from another.<br />
The deluded mind clings to whatever it desires.<br />
Using mind to cultivate mind<br />
Is this not a great mistake?<br />

<p><span style="font-family:Arial,Arial CE,Verdana,sans-serif;color:black;">The erring mind begets tranquillity and confusion;<br />
In enlightenment there are no likes or dislikes.<br />
The duality of all things<br />
Issues from false discriminations.<br />
A dream, an illusion, a flower in the sky<br />
How could they be worth grasping?<br />
Gain and loss, right and wrong,<br />
Discard them all at once.<br />

<p><span style="font-family:Arial,Arial CE,Verdana,sans-serif;color:black;">If the eyes do not close in sleep,<br />
All dreams will cease of themselves.<br />
If the mind does not discriminate,<br />
All dharmas are of one suchness.<br />
The essence of one suchness is profound;<br />
Unmoving, conditioned things are forgotten.<br />
Contemplate all dharmas as equal,<br />
and you return to things as they are.<br />
When the subject disappears,<br />
There can be no measuring or comparing.<br />

<p><span style="font-family:Arial,Arial CE,Verdana,sans-serif;color:black;">Stop activity and there is no activity;<br />
When activity stops, there is no rest.<br />
Since two cannot be established,<br />
How can there be one?<br />
In the very ultimate,<br />
Rules and standards do not exist.<br />

<p><span style="font-family:Arial,Arial CE,Verdana,sans-serif;color:black;">Develop a mind of equanimity,<br />
And all deeds are put to rest.<br />
Anxious doubts are completely cleared.<br />
Right faith is made upright.<br />
Nothing can be remembered.<br />
Bright and empty, functioning naturally,<br />
The mind does not exert itself.<br />
It is not a place of thinking,<br />
Difficult for reason and emotion to fathom.<br />
In the Dharma Realm of true suchness,<br />
There s no other, no self.<br />
</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Arial,Arial CE,Verdana,sans-serif;color:black;">To accord with it is vitally important;<br />
Only refer to not-two.<br />
In not-two all things are in unity:<br />
Nothing is excluded.<br />
The wise throughout the ten directions<br />
All enter this principle.<br />
This principle is neither hurried nor slow<br />
One thought for ten thousand years.<br />

<p><span style="font-family:Arial,Arial CE,Verdana,sans-serif;color:black;">Abiding nowhere yet everywhere,<br />
The ten directions are right before you.<br />
The smallest is the same as the largest<br />
In the realm where delusion is cut off.<br />
The largest is the same as the smallest;<br />
No boundaries are visible.<br />
Existence is precisely emptiness;<br />
Emptiness is precisely existence.<br />
If it is not like this,<br />
Then you must not preserve it.<br />

<p><span style="font-family:Arial,Arial CE,Verdana,sans-serif;color:black;">One is everything;<br />
Everything is one.<br />
If you can be like this,<br />
Why worry about not finishing?<br />
Faith and mind are not two;<br />
Non-duality is faith in mind.<br />

<p><span style="font-family:Arial,Arial CE,Verdana,sans-serif;color:black;">The path of words is cut off;<br />
There is no past, no future, no present. </span></p>
